Hessian Science Minister Timon Gremmels explores cutting-edge research at TU Darmstadt

Last Thursday, the 2nd of May, we had the opportunity to welcome the Hessian Minister of Science, Timon Gremmels, to the ETA Factory at the Technical University of Darmstadt (TUDa). Accompanied by President Prof. Tanja Brühl, Chancellor Dr. Martin Lommel and other members of the Executive Board, Minister Gremmels visited our research laboratories and other important university facilities.

As the only technical university in the state of Hessen, we play a central role in the state-wide research landscape. The Minister's visit emphasises our importance in the context of all Hessian universities and our role as a driver of cutting-edge research and innovation.

We proudly presented our innovative approaches in the ETA-Fabrik and gave Minister Gremmels an insight into our vision of climate-neutral production. We are particularly pleased to have received support from the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts (HMWK) through the LOEWE transfer professorship ‘Climate-neutral production’ for the next 5 years. We would like to thank Minister Gremmels and his team for their visit and ongoing support.

Our projects demonstrate our strength in application-orientated research and the successful cooperation between science, industry and politics. Together with our partners, we are working on solutions for sustainable industrial production. Minister Gremmels was impressed by the excellent research at TU Darmstadt, particularly in the fields of energy technology and artificial intelligence.

We would like to thank the entire Executive Board of TU Darmstadt for the opportunity to give Minister Gremmels an insight into the broad research landscape of our university and look forward to a continued trusting and fruitful collaboration.
